As we congratulate the IDSS graduates of 2022, I am looking forward to a fulfilling summer. MIT can be a little quieter during the summer months, but exciting things are always either happening or in the works – as they are at IDSS.

SDSCon 2022 featured a day of talks on a variety of topics, from machine learning and microeconomics to strategies for mitigating inherent biases in data and using statistics in astrophysics to explore the nature of dark matter.
The 2022 Women in Data Science Cambridge conference focused on supporting more women of color practitioners and the role data science can play in mitigating climate change.
During the school year, IDSS organizes a monthly lecture series featuring prominent global leaders and academics sharing research in areas that are impacted by the emergence of big data. These talks are captioned and added to our YouTube channel. Here are some highlights from Spring 2022.
