It is with great sorrow in my heart that I announce the passing of Fr Bill Halbing this afternoon. Fr Bill had a major heart attack while he was having a stress test today.
As soon as the funeral arrangement become available, we will provide that information. (see above)
Father Bill was my immediate predecessor as pastor of St Antoninus Church, where he served from 1999 to 2012. He was a faithful priest and a dear friend. .
I will miss his friendship and his profound knowledge of the Word of God.
We will be planning on a Memorial Mass for him at St Antoninus in the near future.
Tonight I will concelebrate a Mass for Fr Bill at 8 PM at St Mary Mother of God Church in Middletown New Jersey. (Where he briefly served as a parochial vicar) Certainly, all are welcome to attend this Mass as we look toward being at the altar together for his funeral in the coming days.
Please pray for the soul of Fr Bill, faithful servant and beloved priest of the most high God.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
