The Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce is taking reservations for our Visitor Kiosk at the Route 128 Service Plaza in North Beverly. This highly visited information site services tens of thousands of visitors travelling onto Cape Ann each year. Our rack card positions are available at the same price as last year and will be honored on a first-come, first-serve paid basis.

Swing into Spring Event Recap

The 1st Annual Swing into Spring Businesswomen's Golf Event was a Smashing Success

Over 60 women took the the golf course at Ipswich Country Club (ICC) yesterday to learn, play, and socialize. Players ranged in ability from never have played before to seasoned veterans. In the morning, the women were separated into 4 groups and rotated through chipping, putting, driving and bunker stations with golf professionals from ICC teaching the basics of each skill. After lunch, the women were able to take their newly learned skills onto the golf course and played Scramble format golf.


A long distance putting contest was won by Nicole Carson. Marge Connolly won the Best Dressed Award, Sheila Walsh won the 50/50 raffle ($275.00) and Joanne Vallone won 9 holes of golf at Cape Ann Golf Course.


All proceeds from the event benefit the Businesswomen's Carolyn M. O'Connor Scholarship Fund.


We sincerely thank Ipswich Country Club for creating a wonderful experience for all; it was a day full of smiles, laughter & fun! We can't wait for next year!

North Shore Small Business Diversity Directory


The North Shore Alliance for Economic Development (Alliance) has launched the North Shore Small Business Diversity Directory (Diversity Directory) in an effort to improve equity and diversity in both the public and private sectors. Housed on the Alliance website, it is both an online and printable Directory that will help businesses market their services and products. The Diversity Directory information will also assist private businesses and municipalities to pro-actively increase equity in their procurement opportunities.  

  

Businesses who believe they qualify and would like to register in the North Shore Diversity Directory are invited to complete the registration form.  

Northshore Magazine Launches Hospitality Job Listing Tool to Connect Businesses and Job-seekers


As the warm weather emerges and business picks up in many popular destinations around the North Shore, restaurants and hospitality businesses continue to have a difficult time hiring enough staff. To help this essential segment of our economy and culture address this issue, Northshore magazine has launched a hospitality jobs listing page to connect hospitality workers with open positions throughout the region. Gloucester High named as finalists in state road safety PSA contest


Gloucester High School was among seven Massachusetts high schools chosen as finalists in the “Look Both Ways Road Safety PSA Contest,” sponsored by Fundación MAPFRE and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. High school students statewide were invited to write scripts for a public service announcement aimed at capturing the attention of other teens with important road safety messages. The goal is to promote safer behavior among teens on the roads. The winner will work with Boston creative communications agency CTP to produce the spot, and the school will receive $3,000 for road safety education. The PSA from the winning high school team will be broadcast in May, as students prepare for prom and graduation season. Read More
