Montessori Outdoor Environments
As the weather cools, and we know it will, the children will have increased opportunity to work and play outside. Playing and learning outside helps children to understand and respect nature, the environment and the interdependence of humans, animals, plants, and life cycles. The outdoor environment also offers space and can be particularly important to those children who learn best through active movement. Soon the teachers will be able to set up dedicated work spaces outdoors where children can do everything from gardening to math to reading or painting.
