Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce two additional senior leadership appointments.

Lisa Valentino, currently associate university counsel, will become our interim vice president and general counsel, effective October 1. Before coming to Pace in 2018, Lisa gained both litigation and transactional experience at law firms and Fortune 500 companies, and she has proven to be a strategic and collaborative partner in providing practical and solutions-oriented legal advice to all parts of our University community. Alexis Sandler, who joined us this spring from the Museum of Modern Art, is leaving Pace for an opportunity at a major New York museum.

Bernard Dufresne, previously executive director of our Office of Institutional Equity and our Title IX compliance officer, has agreed to serve as our interim associate vice president for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer. He starts in that new role today. Bernard has been instrumental to the development and implementation of our DEI efforts. Before coming to Pace he worked in the Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education, where he was responsible for enforcing federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination or harassment in educational institutions that receive federal funding. As you know, Tiffany S.W. Hamilton, who led the creation of our Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, is moving on to become CEO of the YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester.

I’m looking forward to working with both of these accomplished leaders. Please join me in congratulating them, and in thanking them for taking on these roles.
Sincerely,
Marvin Krislov
President
