Lane and Ramp Closures

Contractors continue to restripe lanes along northbound (NB) SR-55, shifting traffic toward the center median, as well as placing temporary concrete barriers along the outside shoulders to separate work areas from traffic. Following this work, construction crews will begin to clear vegetation within the work area.

To facilitate this work, nightly lane and ramp closures are planned on NB SR-55, Monday, Sept. 26 through Friday, Sept. 30 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Once striping is complete and concrete barriers are placed on NB SR-55, crews are anticipated to begin nightly lane and ramp closures on southbound (SB) SR-55 in early October.

Detour signs will be posted to direct traffic when on and off-ramps are closed.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

About the Project

OCTA in cooperation with Caltrans is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will add one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction to help with traffic flow and improve mobility. In addition, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges.
