Make Your Thanksgiving a Life Changing One
As Thanksgiving approaches, we invite you to celebrate with us by turning your holiday into a heartwarming “FRIENDSgiving.” FRIENDS of Broomfield continues to provide essential support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and relies on fundraising to sustain these programs. This year, we encourage you to share why FRIENDS has touched your life and invite others to contribute through your personal fundraising campaign from November 1st to December 1st. Thanks to the generosity of the Spallone Family, the first $5,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar! We'll provide resources and updates to make your campaign easy and enjoyable. Interested? Email Rabin at rwalters@friendsofbroomfield.org for more details and to get started today.

A huge thank you to Sprouts Farmers Market and the Sprouts Foundation for their recent grant to FRIENDS! Your support helps us promote healthy lifestyle choices through our programming—gardening, cooking, grocery shopping, and nutrition classes that empower our Friends to lead healthier lives and contribute even more to our community. We're also incredibly grateful for the employment opportunities you've provided to our Friends, helping them gain independence and thrive.
This past Saturday, we shined bright at the Broomfield Days Parade! We loved promoting our upcoming Variety Show 'FRIENDS on Broadway' down Midway and gave a sneak peek performance at the demo stage. Huge thanks to the City and County of Broomfield - Government , Broomfield Area Chamber, and everyone involved for making this event so special! Every year, we’re amazed by the incredible crowd, booths, bands, and floats—just a testament to how outstanding Broomfield truly is!

Mile High Untied Way Day of Caring | We had the pleasure of hosting some outstanding volunteers from Emerson and Premier Members Credit Union for Mile High United Way's Day of Caring! They teamed up with our Friday morning class to create beautiful posters for us to proudly display at the Broomfield Days Parade. Walking alongside Grace, a survivor of Leukemia Lymphoma, at the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's Light The Night was a truly powerful experience. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering light shined even brighter that evening, as we honored her journey and the countless others facing similar battles. Grace's spirit is a beacon of hope at FRIENDS, and walking with her reminded us all of the importance of community, love, and support. Together, we continue to fight, uplift, and stand by those on their journeys.

Our Reward Store is a long-time favorite in the Day Program! Every month, participants use tickets they’ve earned from participation in daily activities to 'purchase' items from the store. Some items are more popular than others, which means our stock can run low. How can you help keep our Reward Store fully stocked and serving participants? You can donate items at any time! We are currently looking for the following popular items:
- DVDs, CDs
- Word search books
- Colorado sports team apparel
- Adult coloring books
- Art supplies (colored pencils, watercolors, etc.)
- Disney items
Thank you for helping us keep this beloved resource available for our Participants!

FRIENDS Supported Employment Program
Jennifer has been volunteering as a book shelver at the Broomfield Library since she was in 7th or 8th grade. Over the years, she has held several other jobs, including working at Sprouts and Wendy’s. Jennifer even attended college in New Mexico but resumed her volunteer work at the Library upon her return to Broomfield.
This month, Jennifer was hired by the City of Broomfield as a Library Shelver and is now an officially paid part-time worker with the Broomfield Library’s Circulation Department Book Shelver Team. The photo above will appear on Jennifer’s City of Broomfield badge.
In her new role, Jennifer will continue performing many of the same tasks, such as organizing carts of books and shelving them in their proper places throughout the Library. She excels at alphabetizing and is often found re-shelving picture books and fiction in the Children’s Library.
Please join us in congratulating Jennifer on this significant achievement and celebrating her persistence and dedication.
