Northminster's Annual Shoe Drive August 20 & 27 Benefits Safe Water
The Mission Committee of Northminster Presbyterian Church, 400 Villa Road, Springfield, is hosting its ninth shoe drive benefiting WaterStep, a non-profit organization that works to bring water purifiers to regions of the world that do not have access to clean water and provides safe water solutions to areas impacted by disasters. Shoes that are donated are sold to an exporter, and the funds are used to support Waterstep’s work. (Walking/running/tennis shoes sell for more than other types of shoes.)

On Saturday, August 20 and Saturday, August 27 from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., you can drive through the shoe drop off at the church. Volunteers will unload your shoes for sorting, bagging, and weighing. All shoe types and sizes are accepted as long as they are wearable and free of mold/mildew and holes.

Northminster has collected more than 42,000 lbs. of shoes in the last eight years. Let's see how many more pounds we can collect! Please spread the word to your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
