The Grossmont College English and Creative Writing program presents the 2021 Fall Reading Series, a host of virtual, public events celebrating literature, showcasing award-winning authors, and honoring the inspiration to write. September events include:
Acorn Review Reading: A virtual reading at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, by students and writers from the community of Grossmont College’s student-produced literary journal, Acorn Review. Registration is required.
Banned Books/Lives: Native Voices: As part of an ongoing effort to foster a stronger relationship between Grossmont College and its Indigenous community, this event at 7 p.m.,Wednesday, Sept. 29, celebrates native voices and the Kumeyaay land on which Grossmont College thrives. This event features Ral Christman, Sr., a federally recognized enrolled member of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay and an adjunct professor at Cuyamaca College, and Vanessa Christman, a federally recognized enrolled member of the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel who has worked in public Indian education at various levels. Registration is required.
