Okaloosa County Issues RFP to Financial Institutions
Okaloosa County is requesting proposals from qualified financial institutions to provide a tax-exempt fixed rate bank loan for a principal amount not-to-exceed $19.7 million. The proceeds of the loan will be used to construct communication towers and to purchase related emergency communication equipment.
Okaloosa County Legislative Delegation Sets Public Hearing
Members of Okaloosa County’s State Legislative Delegation will hold a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., at the Okaloosa County Administrative Building in Shalimar.

Delegation members will consider local bills, hear presentations from government entities, and take public testimony on proposals for the 2022 Regular Session of the Florida Legislature. Any member of the public is welcome to attend. The Okaloosa County Legislative Delegation consists of Senator George Gainer, Senator Doug Broxson, Representative Jayer Williamson, and Representative Patt Maney.

Minimum Wage in Florida Increases
Effective Sept. 30, 2021, the Florida minimum wage was raised to $10 per hour, with a minimum wage of at least $6.98 per hour for tipped employees, in addition to tips, through Sept. 29, 2022. For details, click here.
