National Night Out
National Night Out will take place this coming Tuesday evening (October 5, 2021) at various neighborhood locations throughout the City of Lakeway. More than two dozen neighborhood parties pre-registered with the City of Lakeway. Officers with the Lakeway Police Department, along with several city volunteers, city staff and elected officials will be visiting several of the gatherings that evening.

The evening is an annual event created to strengthen our community by having police officers and residents come together for crime prevention awareness and education. It's also a great chance to get to know your police officers and officials, along with your neighbors. And don't forget the great food! If you're still interested in participating and haven't reached out already, or have questions about ways to celebrate, please email us at [email protected]. Caution For Drivers As Deer Rut Season Begins
Deer rut season typically runs from around this time of the season through December. It's important to be cautious on area roadways as deer may experience behavioral changes, and could quickly dart out into oncoming traffic with little notice. It's also important to stay clear of the deer population and avoid approaching them if they are nearby.

Also, as a friendly reminder, the feeding of deer is prohibited in the City of Lakeway. Deer corn and other food provided by humans can be an unhealthy alternative to their normal diet. It also causes deer to congregate in more populated areas, leading to the potential for damage to area properties and a hazard for drivers. CLICK HERE for some more helpful information.
