Update to BetterLife's Credit Card Process
Beginning on October 20, 2021, BetterLife will be adjusting our credit card processing to include a surcharge fee of 3% for each credit card transaction and eliminating our recurring credit card option. Unfortunately, with this change, we will no longer be able to accept a debit card transaction.

This will be a significant change to some of our members and how we have done business in the past. Individuals that are currently on the recurring option will have until December 1, 2021, to choose what they want to do moving forward. A letter is being sent to each of these members outlining the change and what they will need to do moving forward. (A copy of this letter is also being sent to the agent or agency for each insured).

A user will be able to:
 
  • Continue to log in to our website payment portal www.betterlifeins.com to make a one-time payment any time
  • Enroll as a registered user for future payments
  • Establish recurring payment via ACH (Automatic Clearing House via your bank account) through our website (no fees will be incurred for ACH transactions)
 
The credit card authorization form has been updated to offer only an initial premium for credit cards when an application is taken. Please destroy ALL old credit card authorization forms and begin using the updated form immediately. In addition, remember to inform the member when they are paying with a credit card that there is a 3% surcharge.
 
When using the website payment portal; if a member tries to use a debit card to pay, they will get an error message stating that it is an invalid card. While the card itself may be fine, you will want to prompt them to use a bank account, credit card, or offer to provide them with our EFT form to set up recurring payments.
 
We will also be including an insert with each bill going out that explains the new process.
