IN-PERSON & LIVE-STREAM WORSHIP
Sun Sep 18, 10:00am “The Improvisational Self” ~ Rev. Meredith Garmon
On the stage of the world, we are improvisational actors playing ourselves -- not artificially but a uthentically, by doing what would make sense coming from us as we really are. Insights from NYU Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Bioethics, David Velleman.

Quiet Activity Area
We offer an area in the sanctuary where families can sit and young people can have quiet activities. We know that even when their hands are busy, our young people are connecting with the rituals, words, and music of our faith. Doing a quiet activity or sitting on the floor can help them manage the time more comfortably. We ask parents/caregivers to sit near your children so you can monitor activity and help our young UUs learn to navigate the worship space.

CUUC Mosaic of Identities
We celebrate the many multilayered and rich identities in our CUUC community. Everyone in the congregation is invited to take home blank mosaic pieces this Sunday then write, draw, and design them to represent aspects of your identity. Bring them with you to worship September 18th and we will put them together to make a beautiful mosaic of the identities we carry into our community. If you will not be at CUUC this Sunday, blank pieces will be available on the 18th to decorate. If you are attending by Zoom, Tracy (cuucwptracy@gmail.com) would be happy to mail mosaic pieces to you and then place them with the others after you mail them back.

Bring in frozen breakfast foods (French toast, pancakes, waffles, frozen sausages or patties--no pork), self-stable milk, and fruit cups and come make bag lunches this Sat Sep 10, from 10:30am to 12:00pm. We hope to make this a monthly social justice activity! We may explore alternating months with K-5th grade families and youth in 6th-12th grade. Join us and feel free to bring friends. Food for the bag lunches will be provided. RSVP with Christine Haran ( christineharan@yahoo.com) so we know how many people to expect and how much food to bring for sandwiches.

New CD from Adam Kent
Perfect for gift giving, or your own musical enjoyment! CUUC Music Director Adam Kent has released a new recording of music by Cuban-American composer Tania León, Teclas de mi piano (Keys of My Piano). The New York Times singled out Teclas de mi piano as one of “Five Classical Albums You Can Listen to Right Now.” CUUC members may remember Ms. León’s visit to our sanctuary in 2016, when Adam interviewed her and performed her music as part of a concert dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement. You may buy or download Teclas de mi piano at Albany Records or Amazon. Click here to see the Teclas de mi piano CD flyer.

Covenant Group for Parents/Caregivers of Teens/Tweens
Covenant Group for Parents & Caregivers of Teens & Tweens, Begins Wed Sep 28, 7:30-9:00pm, Zoom 8428
This UU covenant group is for parents and caregivers of middle school and high school youth to meet and be present to each other. From Chaos, Wonder and the Spiritual Adventure of Parenting: “In the context of parenting, the spiritual becomes tangible. We hear, taste, breathe, and touch the spiritual through the ways we attend, together, to countless sunrises, meals at the family table, celebrations, frustrations, griefs, joys, laughter, and responsibilities. We feel its press in the disparity between the path we hope to walk – full of kindness, love, forgiveness – and the path we actually walk.” As a covenant group, we will share and support the fullness of each other’s experiences of parenting.
The first gathering is Wed Sep 28, 7:30-9:00pm, and we will set an ongoing meeting schedule together. Gatherings will be on Zoom: bit.ly/CUUC-RE or meeting ID 817 388 428 and passcode 468468. For phone (audio only) dial 646-558-8656. Contact Tracy B ( cuucwptracy@gmail.com) and Nicole T ( nturygin@gmail.com).
