“We waste so much energy trying to cover up who we are when beneath every attitude is the want to be loved, and beneath every anger is a wound to be healed and beneath every sadness is the fear that there will not be enough time."― Mark Nepo

From Minister Margery Rossi
Friends-
On June 21, Cirsten Conneely was accepted by the Hudson River Presbytery Committee on Preparation for Ministry as an Inquirer into the process of becoming a Minister of Word and Sacrament.
South's Session will provide support as we accompany Cirsten through this time of discernment.
Next steps: Cirsten will spend some time working with the committee to determine what she needs to complete her educational requirements (she already holds a Master’s in Divinity), and I will meet with a member of the committee to learn how we, as a congregation, can support her through this process.
For now, please hold Cirsten in your prayers and congratulate her when you see her next!

Margery Rossi's piece in Unbound
Just published: "Pregnancy Loss & Abortion Bans: Whose Life Matters?" - a timely piece by Margery Rossi about her own experiences with pregnancy loss and access to necessary health care, in light of the possible end of Roe v Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that grants federal protection to abortion rights.

In our prayers: Margery's continued strength and recovery, the Marroquin family as they grieve for Henry's grandmother, Molly's niece starting treatment for breast cancer, Cirsten's niece who is very ill, for all who mourn a dear family friend who recently passed away, Keith, who has colon cancer, for people who must make hard decisions regarding the pets they love, Stan's sister with stage 4 breast cancer, Andrew's relative struggling with ALS, Laurie's mom in an extended care facility, all those who are finishing school, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA
Our hears are thankful for: Linda Jo's sister who is continuing in her recovery, a successful eye surgery, welcoming back Marcelo and Akiko, for Andrew's birthday, all those who graduated.

Installation of New Leaders
Last Sunday was the installation of Session member Cirstin Conneely and Deacons Molly Rodriguez and Andrew Smith. We look forward to their leadership.

South's picnic was delicious and fun! A huge thank you to Stanley Legan, Eric Greenberg, Henry Marroquin, Peter Brenner + all the Deacons and others who made it so easy for the rest of us.

Thank you to all who visited the Manse Garden during South's picnic. Garden Manager Greg Rosen showed us many wild edibles on the property as well as well as what he's planted, where the groundhog lives and what he's doing about it.
