Parker Sloan Honored at the United Soccer Coaches Convention
Parker Sloan, a member of the U18/19 Magic Elite team, was honored and recognized for his All-American award at the 2022 United Soccer Coaches Convention in Kansas City on January 22nd. Trip Ellis, Executive Director of FC Richmond, said, "Parker is incredibly deserving of this honor not only for his consistent impact on the soccer field year after year, but for the example he sets for his teammates and the support and leadership he possesses to make everyone around him better. There aren't many players who come along with so many of these outstanding qualities. We're really proud of Parker's accomplishments and the young man he has become."
Players of the Season
The FC Richmond Junior Board continues to recognize players who were selected by their coach as the "Player of the Season". These players were selected based on their skills, teamwork, leadership, attitude, work ethic or a combination of these qualities. Congratulations to all who were recognized!

Coach Spotlight
"Beyond the Game" Player of the Month
Mia Calbreath, a member of the U18/19 Mystx Elite team, has not only proven herself to be an exceptional leader on the field, but has demonstrated this ability off the field as well! Specifically, her cooperation with the Henrico Humane Society’s Pet Expo– an event held once a year to help cats and dogs find their forever homes— displays how her excellent communication skills in the game, also prevail outside of soccer. Her duties during these annual pet family-finding functions have consisted of setting up, assisting vendors with their stations, and giving directions to guests and other participants. Mia says, “The benefits are knowing that many cats and dogs will finally have a home to sleep in, and many small pet-focused businesses will be given a great start!” While her efforts to guide pets to their new homes are very thoughtful, what is truly admirable is her ability to translate leadership in sports to leadership in charity. And while this volunteering activity stemmed from a love for animals, it has grown into an initiative to take her sportsmanship Beyond the Game
