Dear TxCAA,

At the start of August, we kicked off the school year with our second annual TCA+A Convocation - which is essentially a back-to-school pep-rally for faculty and staff to get pumped for the new school year.

The morning was full of student and staff performances, guest speakers, including NBC5 co-anchor, Deborah Ferguson, and celebrations. Fort Worth Report journalist, Jacob Sanchez covered the event - read his article HERE.

Of the many things to celebrate, TCA+A leadership acknowledged faculty and staff at Texas Center for Arts + Academics, Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, and Texas School of the Arts who have been working for the organization for more than 5 years. Everyone recognized was rewarded a longevity bonus that increased per 5 year increment. Bonuses were issued all the way up to 20+ years - talk about loyalty!

Thank you (left to right) Sheyna Ferraro, Lisa Smith, Darla Jones, and Ryan Wiggins for 20+ years of service at Texas Center for Arts + Academics and Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts!

Our first in-person Gala since 2019, "The Greatest Show in Fort Worth" marked the incredibly successful return of our biggest fundraising event of the year. The evening was full of whimsy, wonder, and splendor, featuring over 120 alumni, student, and guest performers led by Gala ringmasters Jay Armstrong Johnson and Ahmad Simmons.

Thanks to our sponsors, donors, guests, volunteers, and YOU, we raised over $110,000! Those funds will directly support the amazing arts and academic programs at Texas Center for Arts + Academics.

Texas Center for Arts + Academics' Schools Outperform Fort Worth ISD

Another article from the Fort Worth Report highlights the successes of Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts and Texas School of the Arts.

What sets our arts-focused charters apart from other schools is how it can target individual students and meet their needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach that larger schools have to use. Our teachers are dedicated to creative instruction, in all areas, keeping our students engaged and enthusiastic about learning.

We are appreciative of our amazing team of teachers and staff on both campuses and look forward to another year of performing well on the stage AND in the classroom!
