Skålleagues,

Thanks to many of you for taking the time to reply to our RevTek Cyber Survey which is still open!
We had a great response and learned that Skålleagues are most concerned with Customer Data/Identity Theft, Ransomware, Phishing Emails, Device Attacks and Network Security.

Every hospitality booking begins and ends with a credit card transaction, and countless amounts of customer information is stored in between. The hospitality industry is built off of customer data and is therefore a hub of personal information for millions of travellers every day.

Customers rely on the security of their information, they put their trust in your business to protect it.

You can minimize your risk of a cybersecurity incident by ensuring you have some good basic ‘cyber hygiene’ in place, including practical ways to protect your credentials, password strategies that work, keeping software updated, backing up and managing data. This will ensure you are not an easy target for nefarious individuals and organizations.
ABC’s of Email Cyber Hygiene

A. Don’t click on unsolicited emails or emails from unknown persons.
B. Use email services with phishing and pretexting defenses.
C. If you use browser-based email, use one that warns you of spoofed websites.
October is 'Cybersecurity Awareness Month' in many countries so watch for more information on cyber in the coming months.
