July 2021
Dear Trinity Families,
Trinity’s 60th Anniversary is on the horizon, and we are truly excited for the 2021 - 2022 school year. If you’re new to Trinity, we are thrilled to have you with us - it’s an essential journey and partnership. If you’re returning, our journey continues together as we keep teaching and learning at the center of what we do.
The intent of this letter is to begin the process of completing and collecting essential forms for the start of the school year and to give some early indicators on how 2021 - 2022 will open with Covid-19 protocols. To note, letters from teachers and supplies needed will come later this summer.
The Forms
In the coming days, your family will receive emails asking you to fill out required forms. We ask that you complete all information by August 9, 2021.
-
ENROLLMENT FORMS: If you’re a returning family, simply review the information, make any changes, and submit. If you’re new, please complete all of the information required.
-
HEALTH FORMS: We’ve also migrated our health forms online this year. You will receive an email prompt to fill out these forms in the coming days, as well.
The Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols
The updated CDC guidelines for school were announced on July 9 and we are awaiting a similar update from the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE). We do have some preliminary indicators on Covid-19 Health and Safety protocols. I had a meeting (local heads of school) with Nancy Magee, SMC Superintendent of Schools, and here’s what we can assume for now:
-
The protocols will flow from the CDC (announced on July 9) to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to the SMCOE. The CDC guidance will inform the guidance at the CDPH and then SMCOE.
-
Keep in mind that children remain unvaccinated and significant protocols are held in place to protect their health and safety.
-
Monthly Baseline Testing will still take place for all K to 5 students and all faculty and staff.
-
Masks will be required for all students, faculty and staff. It is possible masks will not be required outside.
-
Stable cohorts may be able to mix, although schools will need to be able to contact trace. For example, if a Grade 2 student can go anywhere and mix with anyone and at any time - and is case positive - everyone on campus is considered a close contact and would need to be quarantined.
-
To minimize the risk of everyone quarantining, we will likely expand the stable cohorts beyond what we had last year, but not fully. At the Lower Campus, this may translate into the 3 classrooms being able to mix and on the Upper Campus, possibly having K to 2nd and 3rd to 5th considered as stable cohorts.
-
Students will still need to quarantine if they are in direct contact with a case positive. The quarantine could be 7-10 days depending on the testing options chosen by a family.
-
If a child is in quarantine, distance learning will be made available and will be more asynchronous for 2021 - 2022. Distance Learning is not available for regular absences (ie family vacations, typical cold/flu/illness, medical and dental appointments).
-
Faculty and staff, who are all fully vaccinated, will not have to quarantine if they are in close contact with a case positive.
-
The After School Program will start again and is likely to be separated by cohorts on the Upper Campus (i.e. K-2nd and 3rd-5th).
-
The optional Hot Lunch Program will be available.
As soon as the sequence from the CDC to CDPH to SMCOE is complete and we have official guidance, I will get the information to all families.
We were successful in 2020 - 2021 due to the vigilance of our entire community - parents, faculty and staff. For our Monthly Baseline Testing on campus, we had over 1,100 tests with not a single positive case. While we are optimistic regarding 2021 - 2022, it will take the same vigilance.
Thanks everyone and see you around school,
Matt

Uniforms: Choose to Buy New or "Unicycle"
|
|
Students may wear red or white polo shirts to school, navy shorts or pants, plaid jumpers or "skorts." Please feel free to purchase your student's uniform through our official uniform carrier, Dennis Uniforms, or through suppliers such as Land's End, Target, or Amazon (which will not have the official Trinity logo, but will carry uniform options like navy pants and polo shirts). Please note that many brands offer sensory-friendly options, as well.
-
UNICYCLE: Many families take advantage of our *free* Trinity "Unicycle" Program, which provides gently used uniforms to families. This is also an environmentally-friendly option. We will create sign-ups for Unicycle closer to the start of school. Stay tuned!
-
SOCKS & SHOES: Students should wear white, black, or navy socks or tights, and shoes that are white, black, brown, navy, or red without any embellishments (ex. no neon accents, lights, or glitter).
Uniform information is always available in more detail in the Trinity Handbook, which will be made available to families digitally prior to the beginning of the academic year.

The Trinity Parents' Association (TPA)
|
|
Every parent and guardian of a Trinity student is automatically a member of the Trinity Parents Association (TPA). The TPA works in partnership with the school administration, faculty, and staff to support the experience of the students at Trinity School. Since 1961, parents have generously contributed their time, experience, and expertise to the TPA and are a critical part of the strength of the Trinity Community.
The incoming TPA President, Matthew Burt, is currently finalizing the TPA Executive Board, which will meet over the summer to coordinate the Fall calendar of events for students, parents, and families. We look forward to providing updates soon as we determine how COVID protocols will affect programs that have traditionally been held on-campus.

Trinity School teaches children to embrace social responsibility. A vital element of this responsibility is philanthropy - giving the gift of time, talent, and resources. The Trinity School community exemplifies philanthropy by contributing to the School’s fundraising efforts.
Our school's Fall Annual Fund Campaign represents 13% of the School’s Operating Budget, and our goal is 100% participation. Your participation in our Fall Annual Fund Campaign allows us to support the people and programs that make Trinity School special. There is an intrinsic value of having 100% participation from our parents, trustees, and staff. Although we publish a suggested contribution amount, the “right amount” is different for every family: it's the unity in everyone giving strengthens our community.
OUR FALL GOAL: 100% PARTICIPATION!
