Updates from Alaska Seeds of Change
The crew at Alaska Seeds of Change is having a busy summer! In addition to maintaining our indoor hydroponic farm, the crew is busy building and maintaining outdoor gardens outside the warehouse, at Stickleback Farm in downtown Anchorage and at Steller Secondary School! They also squeezed in a visit to Alaska Pacific University's Spring Creek Farm, to learn more about how they grow that yummy produce we use in some of our Evies Brinery products.

Upcoming Events with Alaska Seeds of Change

  • APU Farm Stand, every Wednesday, 3:00- 6:30 pm; 4225 University Drive in Anchorage. Evies Brinery products for sale!

  • Build & Beautify Day at Stickleback Farm July 23, 4 to 8 pm at 3rd & Ingra in Anchorage. This family-friendly build day includes art projects, a barbecue, and work building garden beds at this urban farm on the site of the former Alaska Native hospital. Sign up to volunteer here!

  • Early notice: Alaska Seeds of Change and the Bear Tooth are teaming up for a showing of the movie Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope on September 15th at 5:30! This movie explores the impacts of adverse childhood experiences on health, behavior and well-being, and shows a path forward to mitigate those effects. The science explored in this film underpins the work we do to support youth at Alaska Seeds of Change, and we can't think of a more fitting fundraiser for our program. A panel discussion follows the movie. Buy tickets here!
Recap: Celebrating two years of services at the Cohen Military Family Clinic
After two years of serving the state of Alaska, the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic finally held an official public opening and community celebration on July 12th! We’re proud of the work we’ve done to provide the military community with high quality mental health care. The clinic has provided more than 500 episodes of care since our launch, including in-person and telehealth sessions. Thank you to all who joined us to celebrate!
