Marcus Alert to bring changes to DEC
Signed into law by Gov. Northam in late 2020, the Marcus Alert system will be implemented in Richmond on Dec. 1, 2021. It aims to improve the response to mental and behavioral health crises by sending mental health professionals to incidents.

DEC staff members are working on various planning committees for changes to 911 policy and procedures, training, public education and more.

All staff will be receiving Crisis Intervention Training over the next several months.

Oh, Baby!
Can you guess the identity of this baby?

Who among DEC employees is this? Send your guess
to Karen by Oct. 17! Make sure that the subject line for your email is "October's Oh, Baby!".

Everyone who correctly guesses the identity of this month's baby will be entered into the random drawing for a prize, and the "baby" will win one also!

Only two more chances to enter the "Oh, Baby" contest.
What will the contest be for 2022? Email your suggestions!
September's
Oh, Baby!

Melanie Givens knew
that September's
Oh, Baby!
was Ulrica Smallwood!
Melanie was chosen
at random from all correct entries. Both won prizes.
