Take a chance and join a group, or lead a group! Every leader = an opportunity for 8-10 more people to get connected. Jill will provide training and support for leaders. We need a new BHAG for the church. You know what a BHAG is right? A Big Hairy Audacious Goal.
I love BHAGs. I’m always working on at least one or two BHAGs for my life. My current one is to live to 120. Yes, you got it, what would it take to live to be 120? I know – you think I’m nuts. But I’ve always loved out of the box thinking. I’ve found myself thinking, what would it take right now, to align myself to live a passionate, dynamic, healthy life well past the century mark. This is my current BHAG...
Do you wonder who becomes leaders at the church and how? Would you be open to serving in leadership or joining a ministry committee? I write this note to invite you to consider sharing your time, talent and unique you-ness with CUC.
Each year in January we gather a team called the Nominating Committee who is elected by you, the congregation, and they compile a list (and ask for nominations) for potential people to serve on committees and in leadership roles...
I love this photo of my dogs, and, of course, everyone knows how much I love my dogs Indy and Annie! Named after two fictional characters (Indiana Jones and Anakin Skywalker), these two are rife with personality. When I get home from the office, Annie jumps and squeals with delight while Indy waits patiently on the couch wagging his big tail. Annie eats all of her food so fast we have to remind her to slow down while Indy is so picky we have to really convince him with the occasional scrambled egg to eat...
If you were able to be at church on Sunday, or join online or Zoom, you know that we ended December in a very good place, given everything we have had to live through this past year!. Although the giving was slow over the summer and early fall, it has picked up and we are indeed blessed to have such wonderful financial support. Pledges for December came in at $101,000! That truly helped us “catch up” in our operating budget, leaving us only a shortfall of $17,000 at year end! Thank you everyone! Some of the ideas given were to share what our utilities are, how much do we pay for water? Electric? In the coming months we will share our expenses that must be covered to keep the church doors open. In other words our “household budget”. If there is something you would like to see, please let me know so we can provide that information in the United eblast...
