Neighborhood House Mentoring Program
The Neighborhood House Community Center is excited to be relaunching our one-on-one youth-adult mentoring program this February! The mentoring program aims to pair kids (ages 7-18) with adult mentors to spend their time working on academic skills, building a positive relationship, socializing and having fun! Together, mentors and mentees work on homework, bake treats, discuss life, play games, make art, and walk to nearby Madison attractions including parks, the zoo, museums, and the UW campus.

Regent Spotlight
Regent community, check out this article on Channel 3000 that features West student Teng Yang who is highlighted for his work at SSM Health/St. Mary's Hospital! We are so proud of Teng's accomplishments through his community-based vocational program!
Madison West Esports Team
In its first year, the Madison West Esports team has had a strong start. With the Wisconsin High School Esports Association (WIHSEA), West High School students play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (a platform fighting game) against other schools in the state. The team is currently at the top of its division and is tied with Case High School in Racine. After two weeks of playoffs the State Championship will take place. It is on January 22nd at Madison College-Truax and spectators are welcome to view it on livestream or in person. Students who will be competing for our varsity team are seniors Mario Rea-Garcia, Sam Wang, and Rowan Wentz, juniors Liv Abegglen and Z Winchester, and sophomore Elliot Sussman.
For more information on the Esports team talk to advisor Ms. Rea-Garcia in room 3054 or to one of the team captains, Liv Abegglen or Mario Rea-Garcia. For information about the State Championship visit: https://www.wihsea.org/fall-21-titles/playoff-and-championship.
