NEW KITCHEN GUIDELINES FOR USE

Thank you to the LUMC congregation for supporting the remodeling of the kitchen area. It has been a generous and daunting undertaking, and now we get to enjoy it! The Property Management Committee has implemented a list of kitchen rules and guidelines to keep this new space in proper working order and cleanliness.

Please read through these new guidelines at lenexaumc.org/news.

Thank you to everyone for cooperating and for helping us get this major project complete through some very difficult times!

SPIRITUAL BOOTCAMP KICKOFF
Sunday, February 6 | 11:30 a.m. | Schneeberger Hall/Zoom

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)

As we move into the new year and approach the holy season of Lent, we are excited to be focusing on ways to increase our personal relationships with God through renewing spiritual practices, both personally and as a church body.

We're calling this new initiative our Spiritual Bootcamp. The focus of the Bootcamp will be to provide educational sessions on scripture, prayer, and personal spiritual examination in small groups and churchwide. Our hope is that you will set your own personal goals for this time of renewal.

We will have an all-church Spiritual Bootcamp Kickoff on Sunday, February 6 at 11:30 (right after the 10:30 worship service). Come grab a dessert and coffee and learn about the small groups that will be part of the Bootcamp.

FRIENDSHIP SUNDAY
"People's Expectations Are Different”
Luke 2:41–52

This week, we'll look at the fulfillment of the year of the Lord’s favor through the person of Jesus Christ and how we can take hold of it.

Pastor Ezekiel Koech preaching.
ABOUT OUR GUEST MUSICIAN

For Friendship Sunday this week, we welcome cellist Eman Chalshotori. Blair Penney has this to say about Eman:

“I first heard Eman Chalshotori perform when he did a recital with a good pianist friend of mine last summer. The music was exquisite! He plays regularly with several Symphony orchestras across the Midwest and has performed and studied in Europe. He regularly plays and has recorded with my friend Melody Stroth (piano teacher of Nan Hulett’s daughter!) in the duo Ad Astra. He is a special artist, so please come to hear him in person!”
