Take Time

We have changed gears for a few weeks and my husband and I are in Colorado. The snow-covered mountains are a beautiful and welcomed sight to wake up to each morning.  I am not a skier, but love the walks.  It seems like when I am surrounded by a white wonderland that my life settles into a quiet cloud where there is a defined calmness and a serenity that surrounds my soul. Our routines are adjusted and a new set of slower paced “to do’s” take president.

We get going each day on our daily routines and I think sometimes we forget to take an intended ‘time out’ just to be still a minute and regroup, redefine and redirect our energies and give God a chance to be an active and welcomed part of our lives and ask him to help us navigate whatever circumstance that are before us.
Time is an essential ingredient that we are given in our lives, and what we do with it is our choice.  We do get busy  or make ourselves busy and when we do finally have some down time, where do we go??? We go to mostly to our phones, or the television or find some distraction that allows us to be temporarily free from the stress and the pulls that the world calls us to respond to. But sometimes I think what we really need is time with God.  Time to reflect on the fact God controls the time we have but it is us who make the choices as to what we do with that time.

Rick Warren in his Sept. 27, devotional titled "Make Time to be Quiet" states the following:

Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace."
Matthew 6:6 (The Message)
God isn’t going to speak to you if your life is filled with noise. You’ve got to get alone, and you’ve got to get quiet. We call this a quiet time with God.

Jesus says it like this in Matthew 6:6: “Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace” (The Message).

Here’s the key to hearing God speak and getting his vision for your life: God wants to meet with you.
You need to realize you’re not waiting on God; he’s waiting on you. God made you to have a relationship with him. He wants you to spend time with him daily. He wants you to schedule a date with him every day. God is waiting.

Getting alone in a quiet place can be difficult today. I don’t know if you realize how much noise there is in your life. Maybe you’ve always got the radio on in the car, or you’ve got earbuds in or Bluetooth turned on. Every waiting room, grocery store, and elevator has music. There’s very little time or space in your life that’s absolutely quiet.

His words are so true and time is such a valuable asset for us to embrace in order to  make peace and find peace in the crazy busy world. Oh but the rewards of quiet can be such a blessing to your very soul. Just put these thought in your pocket today and pull em out often and see what God has in store for you today. You will be blessed, comforted and directed for today is the day that God will touch your heart and you will fill you his very presence. Take Time…and spend time with the God who loves you adores you and wants more than anything to walk with you…today and each day!!! Smother the noise
He says, “Be stilland know that I am GodI will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
 for his name’s sake.

Dear Lord, help me to stop and take time to include you in my daily talk and walk. Help me to elude the distractions and noise that are constant deterrents to the peace that you have offered and the joy that bestow.Amen

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
