This Giving Tuesday, Be the Change Delaware Needs

On Giving Tuesday (December 3), we invite you to join YWCA Delaware in making a meaningful impact on the lives of women and families across our state. Your support fuels our mission to provide shelter, protection, counseling, and educational workshops for Delawareans in need.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Make a One-Time Donation via our website, Venmo @ywcade, or PayPal @YWCA Delaware, Inc., or become a Sustaining Contributor by pledging $10 or more monthly to ensure ongoing support for our programs.
  • Check for Employer Matching: Many employers match gifts, doubling your generosity.
  • Start a Facebook Fundraiser - 100% of what’s donated through Facebook will go directly to YWCA Delaware.
  • Consider us for donations from your IRA or DAF
  • Donate Appreciated Stocks to maximize your impact by avoiding capital gains taxes.
  • Make a Bequest to YWCA Delaware through your will or trust for a lasting legacy.
  • Volunteer as a Sexual Assault Response Advocate: Give the gift of time and compassion.

Your generosity helps us turn complex challenges into opportunities for change, ensuring that women and families in Delaware can find hope, healing, and empowerment. Thank you for being part of our important work.

Early Bird Prices Available for White Ally Workshop

We know that being an ally means more than offering a gesture of support or posting on social media—behind the scenes, it requires many things, including having socially risky but meaningful conversations that bridge divides and bring us closer to equality.

Our White Ally Workshop is open to all adults ages 18 and older who are interested in moving beyond performative allyship and taking meaningful steps toward racial justice. This workshop helps individuals who are navigating tough discussions with extended family, friends, neighbors, or coworkers and empowers participants to approach these challenging conversations with empathy and effectiveness. The experience aims to help white allies see the task of using their influence to bring other white people along on their lifelong mission of dismantling racism.

Date: Saturday, February 1, 2025

Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Location: 1502 West 13th Street, Wilmington, DE - Westminister Presbyterian Church

For a limited time, adult tickets to enroll in this workshop are available for $89 until December 31, 2024 (after December 31, tickets will go up to $110.) Young adult tickets (ages 18 - 30) are available for $60.

Highlights from Our Hood Feminism Book Talk

Thank you to everyone who joined YWCA Delaware, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Delaware Chapter, and Black Mothers in Power for an inspiring evening of connection and solidarity at our Hood Feminism Book Talk, where we explored what it truly means to uplift and advocate for all women, especially those whose voices are often overlooked.

This multigenerational gathering brought together women from across Delaware who shared powerful lived experiences and voiced their dedication to intersectional feminism and allyship. The positive feedback from attendees has us thrilled to announce a follow-up session is in the works—stay tuned!
