Sincerity – Purity of Intentions

Ibn Al-Qayyim RA defines sincerity as “ the freeing of one’s intentions from all impurities in order to come nearer to Allah swt. It is to ensure that we always strive to seek Allah’s pleasure. It is the continuous reflection on the creation to always remember the Creator. That is the utmost commitment and dedication to the guidance of the Quran & the Sunnah of the prophet saaw.

Allah swt said in the Quran, 98:5

“ And they have been commanded to worship only Allah, being sincere towards Him in their deen and true.”

The Prophet saw said:” There are 3 things concerning which the heart of the believer should feel no enmity or malice: “devoting actions to Allah swt , giving counsel to the imams of the Muslims and being loyal to the majority.” These three actions strengthen and purify the heart from all manner of deceit, corruption and evil.

We can only free ourselves from shaytan through sincere devotion, for Allah swt tells us in the Quran that Iblis said to Him:

“Except those of Your servants who are sincere.”

The remedy for love of this world is to break the worldly desires of the self, ending its greed and for this world and purifying it in preparation for the next world.

May Allah swt grant us His tawfeeq to always strive to purify our intention so that we earn His pleasure in this Dunia and Al-Akhirah… Ameen

The Career Series Presented By College Guidance

The College Guidance Department is excited to introduce a new series for our High schoolers titled " The Career Series; So, you want to be a..." .

We will be inviting speakers who are working in various professional fields to give our students a view into what life is like for them, what academic route needs to be followed as well as insider tips on how to be successful in that particular field. Our first session in the series was "So you want to be a...Heart Doctor", with an Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Asad Mohmand who took the time to come to BHA and present what life as a healthcare professional was like. The event was well-attended and many students had their questions answered. We will continue to provide our students with opportunities to learn about the various professional options and make an informed decision about their career paths, insha'Allah.
