Free Grief Support for Children

Loss is difficult. For young children who can't appropriately express their grief, it can be even more challenging.

St. Vincent Family Services can help.

SVFS' Grief Support Program offers a 6-session virtual series of grief education and skill-building groups delivered by our Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants. Groups are designed for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers who have experienced grief and loss due to the death of someone close to them.

SVFS' Grief Support Groups will:

  • Normalize discussion about death and loss

  • Answer children's questions and provide answers that minimize feelings of fear and worry

  • Engage children and their caregivers in activities to both process and preserve meaningful memories of the deceased

  • Empower and equip caregivers to help their children successfully navigate the stages of grief

SVFS' Grief Support Groups are FREE to families. Activities, books and supplies are provided free of charge by SVFS. Gift cards will also be raffled off during each session.

We invite you to share this opportunity with any family who may benefit from SVFS' Grief Support Program.
