I think we can all agree summer is definitely here. Is it hot enough for ya! Fortunately rocks don’t require shade and water to grow in their beauty. I went to Tucson to check on some deals and couldn’t believe it was hotter in Austin than in Tucson. It’s monsoon time there and they are having cooler days, beautiful sunsets and lots of rain. It seems like August is the month to get away and vacation. Lately it sounds like most anywhere is cooler than here. Do yourself a favor and take the time to recharge your batteries, especially before the school fiasco starts up again.

Not one official government recognized holiday claims this month, but that doesn't mean you can't still have a good old-fashioned cook-out. August always holds a special place in my heart. In 2014 the Austin City Council declared August 8th as Nature’s Treasures Day. We hope to be able to revive our annual Rock Fest party, created by this honor, again next year to celebrate our place in the community and share all the fun and games we had with family and friends. Even though congress hasn’t found a cause great enough to declare as an official holiday, we as a nation have created some important celebratory days this month that I thought worth mentioning. In addition to National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day on the 4th and National Tooth Fairy Day on the 22nd, since holding all things with respect to Mother Nature near and dear to my heart, I thought we might recognize National Park Service Founders Day on August 25 and National Beach Day celebrated on August 30th.

In 2020 we commemorated our 20 year Anniversary with a special edition newsletter traveling back in time remembering adventures and growth Nature’s Treasures has shared with all of you (Click HERE to view the Commemorative Edition). We continue to grow and prosper because of the love our customers continue to provide. Nature’s Treasures continues to be a home for everyone, employees and customers alike, to learn and gather life lessons. It’s been enlightening to see others grow and change over the years. I hope everyone will remember to come home for a visit every now and then. We’ll leave the light on for you.
