SPRING NEWSLETTER | MAY 1, 2023
We are so excited to welcome Spring to our community! What a great start to the new season we had with welcoming families and guests to our Easter pancake breakfast. The kids enjoyed visiting with the Easter Bunny and the Easter egg hunt. We look forward to more family events throughout the rest of the year!

There are some new faces to our leadership team here at West Park Place. We welcome a new Wellness Director, Hope Ansted; Maintenance Director, David Keller; and Community Relations Director, Lorrie Kecskes. If you see them in the community, be sure to stop and say “hello” and welcome them to our community.
As the weather turns warmer and we can enjoy the outdoors, we will be sure to have our patio spaces ready for you to enjoy. I am sure that the patio off the pub will be a happening place for happy hour!

This is the time of year when we will welcome many new neighbors to our community. If you have someone that you know is looking to make a move into a retirement community, please see Kaylynn or Lorrie. They will be happy to help them take the next steps!

Thank you for choosing to make Traditions at West Park Place your home! We look forward to serving you each day.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
Thank you all for the warm welcome to the community. For those who have not met me, I’m Lorrie Kecskes, the new Community Relations Director here at Traditions at West Park Place.

I have a passion for seniors, especially those experiencing memory issues. I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Prior to senior care, I was the Operations Director at a 27-hole golf course in Southeast Michigan. I have four grown children and six grandkids residing in four states. I have a wonderful man, a 19-year-old bonus son and a fluffy labradoodle in my life. I’m truly blessed both professionally and personally.

SAFETY SPOTLIGHT
When spring arrives in Ohio, we can begin to get out and enjoy the outdoors and get some much-needed exercise. However, unpredictable spring weather and other situations can increase your risk of falling:

  • Rain and Mud – mud can be as slippery as snow and ice and can get on a variety of surfaces indoors and out. Avoid walkways that are covered with mud (wet or dry). Clean mud off your shoes and walking aids to maintain the most traction.
  • Storms – spring and summer storms can cause a variety of tripping hazards from power outages to debris in outdoor walkways. If you can’t see the path before you, find another way.
  • Flooding – never walk or drive into flood waters! Still water can make you trip and moving water can knock you off your feet.
  • Increased Activity – ask your doctor or physical therapist about strategies to safely increase your activity level.

Stay Safe this spring!
