Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil
5:00 p.m.
Come together with CBST’s trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming (GNC) group to light candles, remember those we’ve lost, and honor their memories with song. This vigil will take place in person at CBST with an option to join on Zoom. While this vigil is only for the trans, nonbinary, and GNC community, the TDOR Shabbat service that follows is open to all. The Zoom link will be sent to the Emet mailing list the morning of Friday, November 18; if you are transgender/nonbinary/GNC/questioning and would like to be added to the list, please sign up for Emet Team updates here or email transjews@cbst.org for more info.

Masks Recommended (but Optional) for Services; Testing Requested for Oneg and Kiddush

With COVID rates once more on the rise, masks are strongly recommended but not mandatory for services and other in-person gatherings at CBST. There will be a clearly marked “Mask Required” section for those who wish to sit with others who are masked. The medical team requests that anyone who intends to eat or drink at the synagogue (Oneg/Kiddush or other event) take a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of the event. Complying with this request helps to better protect our entire community. Vaccination (with booster) is still required to enter the synagogue.

If you are not feeling well for any reason, please stay home and stream our services. Anyone with COVID-like symptoms or who is within ten days of a new symptomatic COVID infection and/or a positive COVID test may not enter the building. For those testing positive, or exposed and asymptomatic, wear a mask until ten days from exposure/diagnosis. A test five to seven days from exposure is recommended.

Please note that ventilation and air filtration at CBST was upgraded to the highest standard for facilities of our type at the beginning of the pandemic.

Stay up to date with our COVID policies, including masking and vaccination requirements, here.

In order to guide our decision-making, we have a brief anonymous survey about vaccination status. Please click here to access it.
