Greetings!

"You have brains
in your head.
You have feet
in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose."

  • Dr. Suess

I've always loved that quote by Dr. Suess -especially this time of year. It's a new school year filled with new beginnings, new adventures and new challenges.

Good luck with whatever you are embarking on right now. Remember, Challenge Air's mission is to build confidence and self-esteem in children and youth with special needs through the gift of flight! Check out the calendar and come fly with us! Because, if YOU can a fly an airplane, YOU can do anything!

Take care and happy flying!

Spotlight on Mitch

Meet Mitch West from Colorado!

Mitch has been flying for over 40 years and has flown with Challenge Air for the last 6.

"I have long enjoyed working with and supporting youth, especially in regard to flying. I am a member of Civil Air Patrol and have been responsible for our Wing’s Cadet Orientation Flight program for the last 5 years. I have been privileged to have flown over 250 cadets during that time, helping to establish interest in flying and in many cases supporting their goals to become pilots and in many cases future military officers.

I learned of Challenge Air several years ago and have enjoyed the opportunity to support a new community of “copilots”, especially when I have been able to fly the children of several of my friends and acquaintances, all of whom have been thrilled to get in the air!"

You will find Mitch flying a Cessna Turbo Centurion T210.

Mitch's favorite place to fly? "Flagstaff, AZ…flying from Denver takes us over amazing Canyon Country into the red rock territory of Sedona/Flagstaff/Grand Canyon".

Thank you Mitch for your service to the Challenge Air Community all these years.
"Such a great event and cause! Thanks for making a difference in my family's life!"
