"Peace begins with a smile."
Mother Teresa
This week we celebrate the 40th anniversary of International Peace Day established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981. They urge everyone to participate. “Celebrate peace by standing up against hate online and offline, and by spreading compassion, kindness, and hope,” their website advises.

We can all celebrate by providing education and public awareness within our own spheres of influence. It may be as simple as sharing a smile or as elaborate as creating a story, poem, or artwork with peace as the central message.
