Are you a BAG Lady?
(BLESSED and GIFTED)
East Central Synod of Wisconsin
Fall Retreat at Imago Dei Village
Saturday, September 18, 2021
Planning is in full swing for the annual fall retreat. Members of the board are excited to welcome you. Registration is open! (Early registrations are appreciated.) A poster, registration form, and scholarship application are attached to this email. Please share. All women are welcome to attend whether you have a formal WELCA group or not.
The “Are You a BAG Lady” fall retreat is going to be a full day of learning and laughter. Pastor Judy Deckert will be our featured retreat leader. You may have seen her preliminary “Bag Lady” Bible studies on the East Central Synodical Women of the ELCA Facebook page. Her wit and humor will be engaging as she leads the workshops. We welcome Bishop Anne Edison-Albright who will be leading a dynamic worship service with Holy Communion.
In addition to workshops and worship, there will be door prizes, a silent auction, time to explore the remodeled lodge, music, devotions, food, and fellowship. Plus, time to meet with others from your conference. Don’t forget to take a picture with our official “Bag Lady” greeter.
For in-kind donations, gently used handbags, purses, and wallets are being collected at the retreat for “Handbags for Hope”. These “bags” are then filled with personal hygiene items and distributed to ladies in shelters. Collecting a “bag” of personal hygiene products and donating to your local women’s shelter or food pantry is encouraged. Consider utilizing a Thrivent Action Team grant to make a larger impact in your community. The worship offering will be evenly split between Handbags for Hope, synod women’s organization and the church wide Women of the ELCA.
Register now! For additional information contact  Carol Cleveland at cacleveland50@gmail.com (Registration due by 9/7/2021) or Deb Martin at Debmartin04@gmail.com   Looking forward to meeting you in September!
