We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and the start of November! We held our November PTC meeting on Wednesday this week - you can check out the minutes HERE. As a reminder, Dr. Covino postponed his visit to Ogden and will be here next Wednesday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m. to answer questions and discuss the Renew D102 initiative.

The deadline for ordering your Red Sled or 2024 ornament is coming up soon! For new families, our red sleds have been a symbol of Ogden's holiday spirit for years - you've probably seen them all around the neighborhood and now is the time to grab yours HERE!

You can also show your holiday spirit by grabbing some of our new spirit wear in the Spirit Wear Pop Up Shop!
- The sign up for our Gingerbread House event goes live today! December 8th will be a fun-filled day for our community - read on for more details on our new holiday movie event that afternoon.

Gingerbread House Workshop
A family-favorite Ogden tradition is BACK!
Participants will decorate a gingerbread house with all supplies and a candy buffet at Ogden! Leave the details and clean up to us at this festive holiday family event!

Blackberry Market Cinnamon Roll Round Fundraiser
The 6th Graders are selling Blackberry Market's amazing cinnamon roll rounds to fundraise for the 6th Grade Committee activities (class gift to Ogden school, service project, and celebrations to cap off their Ogden journey!).
The cinnamon roll round includes eight of Blackberry Market's famous cinnamon rolls & tub of icing. These cinnamon rolls are perfect for a brunch, holiday meal, or as dessert.
NOTE: The cinnamon rolls keep well in the freezer (up to 3 months!), so buy yours today and store them for a special occasion any time!
Pre-Order today for an easy pickup at the Gingerbread House Workshop on December 8, 2024 at Ogden School! You do not need to be participating in the gingerbread workshop to buy and pickup cinnamon rolls.

We will host a Banned Book Club meeting for parents and caregivers on Monday, November 18. Our book selection will be Blubber by Judy Bloom.

November is Native American Heritage Month!
November is Native American Heritage Month, honoring the histories, cultures, stories, and contributions of Native Americans. This month, the Ogden display case will celebrate Native American historical figures as well as works of fiction and non-fiction designed to educate students about this important part of American history.

Picture Retake Day
By now you should have received your school picture proofs. If your student was absent on picture day or if you are not happy with the proofs, picture retake day is scheduled for Friday 11/15. Please click HERE to sign up.
The deadline to sign-up for retakes is Wednesday 11/13.

Ogden Day at the Wolves Game
Join Ogden Avenue families and friends on Sunday, November 17 for a day of fun at a Chicago Wolves hockey game. Everyone will receive a free Chicago Wolves hat and will be seated together in the same section. Our school name will also be on the LED boards during the game.

Flying High Pizza FUNdraiser
Ogden Avenue School PTC is hosting a Flying High Pizza FUNdraiser on Friday, November 22nd!
Students in grades K-4 are invited to sign-up. This is a drop-off event.
Students are expected to adhere to both Flying High and Ogden behavior policies/expectations. Parents will be contacted for early pick-up if students do not comply.

Red Sled Flick & Friends
Join us for a re-imagined Red Sled event! Flick & Friends will be an open house with movie shorts, raffle sales, pictures with Santa, snacks, and more. Bring the whole family (this is not a drop-off event). More details to follow.

DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THE 2024 RED SLED RAFFLE!
The Red Sled is the longest-running Ogden PTC fundraiser and is celebrating its 45th year!
Proceeds from the annual raffle benefit the PTC, which provides financial support for special events, academic supplies, equipment, scholarships, and much more!
Donated items will be used as our raffle prizes. Some past donations have included: electronics, sports tickets, American Girl Dolls, scooters, gift certificates (restaurants, theaters, stores), as well as sports, fitness, and photography packages, etc.

If you don’t have an item, monetary contributions are great too and supplement donations by area businesses and Ogden families. We'll work to put together amazing prize baskets for this year!

Be part of Ogden's longest-running fundraiser by purchasing a red sled to display on your front porch! This year, you have the option to purchase a blank sled, a sled with the word JOY, or a sled with your last initial in one of 3 font options.
Want to jazz up your new sled or the sled you already own? Buy a signature 6" handmade snowflake decoration to hang on your sled this year and keep as a keepsake ornament for your tree for years to come.

Come Join Scouts!
Ogden Cub Scouts Pack 39 meets at Ogden Room 117 right after school!!
Join us on Thursday 11/14 to make Raingutter Regatta Boats to race in our Pack Meeting Saturday 11/16!!
Cub Scouts is open to both boys and girls K - 5th Grade.
Activities include annual favorites such as Pinewood Derby, camping; indoor and outdoor activities! Scouts learn to work together and help our community!
We invite parents to our Den Meetings and the whole family to our Pack Events.
11/13 Den Meeting (for Scouts*): Ogden 3:15 - 4:15
11/16 Pack Meeting (for full family): All Saints Episcopal Church of Western 3-5
*A parent or responsible adult is asked to attend with their K or 1st grade Scout.

Guess Who?
6th Grader Pictures Needed for "Guess Who?" Section of Yearbook!
Please share one picture (preferably a color picture) of your child as a baby, as a young child, or as an Ogden student engaged in a favorite activity to be used in the "Guess Who?" section of the yearbook.
Please submit using the following instructions by November 22, 2024.
You may upload your child(ren)’s photo(s) one of two ways:
*note Images must be in JPG, TIFF, HEIC, or PNG format.
*Required: Tag your Picture (we need to know information on your 6th grader)
- Include: First Name, Last Name, Grade, and Description
- In Description field, input "Guess Who"
*Accept Terms & Conditions and click “Upload Photos” to submit
