For the sick, especially: James Dillon, brother of Theresa Ward; Helmut Schweiger, father of Tom Schweiger; and Bob Swanson. May they know Gods comfort and love.
For those whom God has called to his kingdom, especially: Mildred Martin; Michael Kelly; and Hal Lass. May they obtain the fullness of your promises in the world to come.

Getting ready to sing again...Thank you to Kay Hessemer who has made special masks for our entire choir.
"I am and a lifelong seamstress. To date I have made nearly 120 singers masks, and Our Lady of the Lake is my best customer so far! It has been a labor of love to create these masks. As a chorister myself (St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral Choir), I appreciate the importance of singing and am honored to engage in a task that permits us all to make music again. One who sings, prays twice!"

OLL, We Celebrate You!
National Hispanic Heritage Month
|
|
Each year, our nation sets aside September 15 to October 15, to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic and Latinx Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. During this National Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor our Hispanic and Latinx parishioners and thank you for all the ways you build up our OLL community.
"One way I celebrate my Hispanic Heritage is by celebrating Epiphany with our Puerto Rican tradition of Three Kings Day. We build the hill of Bethlemen with mini houses and figures topped with a creche that had been my parents. We leave shoe boxes for the three kings filled with grass for their camels hoping to find a few gifts from them in the morning. As my kids started school at OLL, my mom and I were so excited to be able to share this tradition the Kindergarten classroom."
-Liz Jackman
If you would like to share how you celebrate your Hispanic heritage, please send your pictures and/or short story to Liz Jackman

Building a Racially Just Parish

|
You are invited to join OLL parishioners in starting the next steps toward building a Racially Just Parish. The participants in the August 28, 2021, session sponsored by OLL Pax Christi Northwest group and OLL Justice and Peace Committee featuring Pax Christi USA National Council Chair, Isaac Chandler, generated many suggestions on this topic. OLL will hold a series of monthly meetings to begin working on these recommended actions.
The first meeting will be via Zoom tomorrow at 7:00pm. Our current plan is to hold these meetings on the third Tuesday of the month. If you are interested in participating, please register HERE. P lease refer questions to Parishadmin@ollseattle.org
