RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
CITY YEAR DENVER
The RK Foundation is proud to support
City Year Denver, an AmeriCorp program that brings young adults from diverse backgrounds into public schools for a year of full-time community service. City Year's mentorship program provides every member with a mentor to help advise and support them. Our very own, Marcee Kinning is a proud second-year mentor.
"I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the hard work and dedication the corp members bring to their schools and communities every day.
Our community is better because City Year serves here, and I am honored to serve City Year," said Marcee.

PAPA RAY
Ray Burns is a military veteran of 30 years and served our country in
WWII, Korea and Vietnam. To celebrate his 100th birthday on August 5, Papa Ray will take 100 walks and tell 100 stories to encourage donations to three charities: Operation USA, the Mile High United Way COVID-19 relief and Feeding America.
The RK Foundation made a donation to support Papa Ray's fundraising efforts, and welcomed him to RK's Denver office on June 11 to start his 77
th
walk. RK employees cheered him on after he gave an inspirational speech.

EMERGENCY FUNDING
FOR COVID-19
To support our community during this extraordinary time, the RK Foundation made a few emergency grants to help alleviate unexpected needs created by the pandemic.
Both organizations worked with their local public-school districts to provide food assistance for thousands of families in need.
Our sincere gratitude goes out to both organizations for their quick action and their dedicated volunteers for helping ensure
|
school children and their families were supported.
To help ensure students at Metropolitan State University (MSU) Denver can continue their education, the RK Foundation matched grants (1:1) for students, at the university, receiving scholarships from the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI). Grant funds will have a tremendous impact on the individual students, and continue to assist in developing Colorado's future workforce.
"Just wanted to say thank you to the RK Foundation for choosing to support MSU Denver and our COSI Scholars. Thank you again for believing in our students," says Shannon M. Roe, University Advancement, MSU Denver.
