The Town of Wellington is updating the Land Use Code, a regulatory document that establishes procedures and standards that shape how property is used and developed.
This update will align the regulations with the community Comprehensive Plan that was adopted in August 2021. The Planning Commission will review sections of the Land Use Code over several months during work sessions on the first Monday of the month. Commissioners meet in person at the Leeper Center at 5:30 p.m. You may listen in person or via Zoom with the information available in the meeting packet.

Finishing a basement requires a building permit. Permits that require plan review take longer to process and require building plans, a site plan, an application, and may require multiple inspections.
The Town and Safebuilt are hosting an event on Saturday, October 16, from 9-11 a.m., at the Leeper Center (3800 Wilson Ave.) so homeowners can learn about the building code process associated with finishing a basement.
