Dear REF Community,

When you give to the REF annual campaign, you are directly supporting student learning in East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park. Your dollars fully fund 32 key positions in the district this year, including 7 reading intervention teachers and literacy coaches who are essential in providing highly strategic, targeted small group instruction to 959 elementary children. 

One of these incredible reading intervention teachers is Kristina Thompson. Kristina is a long time educator who, after teaching in a local charter school for the past 15 years, decided to join Ravenswood City School District this year because of the district’s incredible vision around and commitment to literacy. In addition to her background in teaching, she is devoted to the East Palo Alto community as both a resident and one of the founders of Live in Peace.
