Dickinson Research Extension Center is Looking for Your Input!

I hope you had a great weekend celebrating our independence! With July, comes our annual Dickinson Research Extension Center field tour. This year’s field tour will be on July 13 at 8:00 am (MST). Lunch will be served at noon and at 1:00 pm (MST), we will have a horticulture tour. The horticulture tour will conclude at 3:00 pm. My goal is that you come to the field day, learn something and incorporate that something on your operation.

Having said that, we want your input. The Dickinson Research Extension Center is looking for people to serve on our advisory board. The board meets once in the summer (this year is August 1) and once in the winter. The advisory board listens to the research and outreach programs of the Dickinson Research Extension Center Team as well as our needs. But more importantly, board members share with what your needs are. I bolded that last statement because the Dickinson Research Extension Center is the people’s center and we are here to help you.

Other advisory board duties include:

-Assisting with search committees to find the right people to conduct impactful research and outreach.
Communicating activities and needs to decision makers.
- Serving on various committees that include: infrastructure projects, grant guidance, strategic planning, prioritizing projects, and more.

The goal of our agricultural research and outreach is to improve your lives and resources. With your feedback and guidance, we can design research projects and outreach activities that will have a positive impact on you, your community, and future generations.

If you have any interest or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am happy to discuss what we can do to better your life anytime. I hope to see you on July 13.
