Bay Area Health Officials Urge Immediate Vaccination and Issue Orders Requiring Use of Face Coverings Indoors
Indoor Masking Orders Take Effect Tuesday
Vaccination continues to protect against severe COVID-19 illness, but with the COVID-19 Delta variant now infecting a small percentage of vaccinated people as well as many unvaccinated people, eight Bay Area health officers have issued Health Orders requiring masks indoors in public places. The Orders require all individuals, regardless of
vaccination status, to wear face coverings when indoors in public settings, with limited exceptions, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
“Face coverings are a simple and effective tool that everyone can use to slow the spread COVID19,” said Dr. Nicholas Moss, Alameda County Health Officer. “Using face masks in indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status, will help us protect each other and end this summer surge.”
-Dr. Nicholas Moss, Alameda County Health Officer

"Being the Chair of the 2019 board of directors has been a highlight of my life. Being part of an organization that supports residents and businesses in our community is such an honor. In 2019, we had a record-breaking year in membership. We encouraged our members to reach out to businesses in our community and consider Chamber membership.
We introduced a new mission statement showing the Chamber is a catalyst for business and economic growth, a convener of leaders and influencers and a champion for a stronger and healthy community. The ambassadors, board members and staff all worked closely together to support our diverse community, growing membership to peak levels unseen in years.
We also hosted the Chamber’s first Women in Business luncheon to a sold-out crowd. I am also proud that we introduced an organizational chart, highlighting all the different areas that the chamber supports, promoting the value-proposition for its members. Finally, we welcomed back past board chairs, and created the “Chair’s Crew,” an advisory group to help give historical perspective to incoming chamber leadership."
-Herb Ritter,
2019 Chair of the Board
