Reminders for Families Not Returning in the Fall

Keycards
If you are not returning to WMS in the fall and have a WMS keycard, please return it in an envelope addressed to Noel Dietrich with your family's name on it. You can hand it to a staff member at drop-off or pick-up. Thank you!

Re-enrollment/Ongoing Communications
If you have not yet re-enrolled for the 2021-22 school year, please do so as soon as possible. Following the last week of school, we will be sending communications (including this newsletter) only to re-enrolled families and those attending camp. If you are not returning to WMS but would like to remain on our email list, please email [email protected].
Camp Montessori
Camp Montessori - Limited Spaces Available for Elementary Students

The camp registration deadline of May 31 has passed, and we are excited to share that most of our camp programs are at or near capacity. We do have limited spaces available for elementary-age campers.

Please visit www.wmsde.org/camp to learn more and register, or contact Tracey Gable with any questions you may have.

We're looking forward to a great summer!
Spirit Week Updates & Reminders
The 9-12 students would like to thank everyone who has already participated in Spirit Week 2021 - by dressing up for one of our themed days, bringing in e-waste to be recycled or donating money toward the purchase of organic pesticides for the Food Bank of Delaware's farms.

Here's what to look forward to for the rest of the week:

Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day to participate in the e-waste collection. Computer monitors, phones, tablets/iPads, laptops, batteries (AA, AAA, 9v, C, D), PCs, TVs under 50 inches and other SMALL electronics are being accepted. Please bring your e-waste in a box or bag, except PCs and TVs - there are collection boxes at the front and side entrances from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Food Bank fundraiser will continue through Friday. Donation boxes (for cash only) are outside of each classroom.

There are two more "dress-up days" remaining:
  • Thursday, June 3: "Pajama Day" - Wear your PJs to school!
  • Friday, June 4: "Spirit Day" - Wear your WMS clothing or dress in our school colors (blue and white)!

Please contact Allie Colflesh with any questions!
Notes from Nurse Kathy
Thank you to everyone who has completed Magnus Health requirements so far!

Camp Families: Campers' health forms are now past due - please be sure to complete your child's requirements as soon as possible to allow them to begin camp as scheduled.

Other Families: Health forms for families returning in the fall are due on July 1.

Vaccination Updates: If your child has received the COVID-19 vaccine or does so over the summer, we encourage you to notify Nurse Kathy (including the dates for each shot) - this will support our contact tracing efforts this summer and into the fall. This information will be kept confidential.
Thank you for all of your efforts to keep our community healthy through regular COVID-19. If your children are not attending summer camp, you have officially completed your requirement for the 2020-21 school year!

COVID-19 Testing: Next Results Due June 11 for Camp Families Only

If your child is attending summer camp, they will be required to submit a test result by June 11 (please complete the test on or after Saturday, June 5). After this deadline, camp families will follow a bimonthly testing schedule, with results due on the 1st and 15th of each month (beginning with the July 1 due date).

Results must be emailed to Nurse Kathy at [email protected] as soon as they become available. If you are sending a screenshot, please include the date tested.

Important: Please understand that if no results are forwarded to Nurse Kathy, your child will not be permitted on campus. If your results are forwarded after 4 p.m. on the due date, you may experience a delay in drop-off the next morning. A last-minute result may delay or prevent your child from attending camp; time must be allowed for communication to the staff members conducting screenings in the car line.

Upcoming required due dates (for camp families only!) are as follows:

  • Friday, June 11 - test on or after Saturday, June 5
  • Thursday, July 1 - test on or after Friday, June 25
  • Thursday, July 15 - test on or after Friday, July 19

You are still welcome to have your child tested more frequently and may forward the results to Nurse Kathy.

Thank you, and please contact Nurse Kathy if you have any questions!

Policies & Procedures

WMS's COVID-19 policies are based on guidelines from the CDC and Delaware's Office of Child Care Licensing. We continue to monitor those sources for information to adjust our policies and practices as needed.
The Wednesday Weekly shares WMS news and events that are relevant to the families in our community.

Please send submissions to [email protected] by 4:30 p.m. on the Friday prior to the issue in which you wish to include your information. Content may be edited for length and style and may be held for a future issue due to space constraints.
