Our annual WIP Spring Luncheon, held May 10, celebrated a record attendance of 82 guests!
Upon arrival at the Colleton River Nicklaus Clubhouse, all were met with the dulcet sounds of jazz musician Erez Dessel, which was a perfect complement to the ivory and seafoam palette that adorned the dining room.
Our outgoing Advisory Board Chair, Elizabeth Loda, warmly welcomed all guests, and WIP member, Reverend Pam Fahrner, delivered a meaningful blessing to all. As guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, Mary Stuart Alderman, Grants Committee Chair introduced project reports from the 2021 grants recipients. She then presented cheques to the 2022 recipients representing the 2022 theme, Helping Families Recover from the Effects of the Pandemic.
Two heartfelt moments occurred when Elizabeth thanked Martha Anne McDonald for her committed two terms of service in promoting membership growth for Women in Philanthropy, and when incoming Advisory Board Chair Lesley Gilbert presented Elizabeth with a beautiful birdhouse in recognition of her outstanding service as Advisory Board Chair from the membership.
A Special “Thank You” to Elizabeth Loda for her leadership as Chair of the WIP Advisory Board.
