Board of Education April 19, 2023 Special Board Meeting Highlights:

All board members were present.
EXECUTIVE SESSION/BUSINESS ITEMS
Piedmont Public Schools Board of Education convened into executive session.
ACTION ITEMS
After returning from the executive session, the board approved employment as listed in Attachment A of the board agenda. Joe Crawford was named the Piedmont High School Women's Basketball Coach.
The board discussed the search process for a new superintendent. The board will arrange for presentations from OSSBA and Oklahoma Public Schools Resource Center for assistance with the process of finding a new district leader. The board also discussed a hybrid hiring process, utilizing an outside group and maintaining the voice of the board regarding the next leader. No action was taken.
No discussion or action was taken regarding naming an interim superintendent.
The board discussed daily operations and confirmed there were delegates for processes in the absence of the superintendent.
The board voted and unanimously agreed on an hourly rate of $25 for the Board Clerk, effective immediately through the hiring of a new superintendent.
