If you can't be with us in person, we invite you to worship with us online
Our Sunday morning services are livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. They can be viewed on our Facebook page or on our YouTube channel - either live or watched later.
Only once the service is over, can a recording of the service be found on our website.

Trunk or Treat & Worship in Costume!
It’s that time of year for costumes and treats! Our annual TRUNK OR TREAT will be this Sunday October 27th right after church around 11:15 until noon. We are once again inviting the community to join us for the fun, so we need your help to bring on the BOO factor! Like in previous years, the participating cars will be parked in front of the education building and will be cordoned off to provide a safe place for the event. And don’t forget that young and old alike are invited to come to worship in costume on Sunday October 27th!

All Saints Sunday
We invite you to share the names of loved ones who have passed since the last All Saints Sunday (October 29, 2023) to be read aloud with the tolling of a bell in the worship service on All Saints Sunday, November 3. Please send names to the office at office@bccucc.org or call the office at 246-0111 by Tuesday, October 29.

"Fall Back" for Daylight Saving Time
Reminder to all! Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 am on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024. Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour when you go to bed on Saturday, November 2nd. That means you can enjoy an extra hour of sleep before church the next morning!

Film Screening & Discussion
Rev. Racquel Ray, DEI members and other local faith leaders for the film screening and discussion of Boy Erased. The first screening and discussion will be on Sunday, October 27th at 1pm, and on Wednesday October 30th at 6:30pm in the Salem Family Auditorium at the Barrington Public Library.
Film overview: Jared Eamons, the son of a small-town Baptist pastor, must overcome the fallout after being outed as gay to his parents. His father and mother struggle to reconcile their love for their son with their beliefs. Fearing a loss of family, friends and community, Jared is pressured into attending a conversion therapy program. While there, Jared comes into conflict with its leader and begins his journey to finding his own voice and accepting his true self.

Barrington Interfaith Partners Prayer Service
Barrington Interfaith Partners will hold a candlelight prayer service on Monday, November 4, from 7:00 - 7:30, in the library of Barrington Congregational Church, United Church of Christ at 461 County Rd., Barrington. The service will include music from Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and secular traditions, as well as poems and prayers. There will be moments of silence. This is a non-partisan event to pray for our country on the night before the election. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Ye Olde Ministry Faire
Hear ye! Hear Ye! Come one, come all to the BCCUCC Ministry Faire on Sunday, November 10th. Greet one another and the various Ministry Coordinators, learn about the many Ministries at BCCUCC, and ENGAGE in our exciting activities. Join us for this festive gathering during coffee hour in Fellowship Hall where we will have crafts for kids and snacks for all! Adventure and Ministry opportunities await. Church Potluck
We invite everyone to an old fashioned church potluck on Sunday, November 10th at 5pm in Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite dish (with your secret recipes) to share! No sign-up is required. Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Thanksgiving Food Drive is off to a promising start – 46 bags were taken home by the congregation last Sunday! Bags will be available again this Sunday. Please return your bags with the requested items by Sunday, Nov. 3rd and we will arrange delivery to Tap-In. Items requested include: stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, (canned) gravy, (canned) cranberry sauce, brownie mix and cookie mix. Items should be regular size (not oversized) cans and boxes (no glass). Please contact Team Leader Pat Stoddard with any questions (pat@bccucc.org, 401-829-0654).

Fresh Fruit for TAPIN
Church member Beth Zarlengo is once again running the Fruit Sale Fundraiser for the Providence Singers and invites the congregation to order fruit for delivery to TAPIN. Many of the Singers also purchase cases of fruit for TAPIN and donate over 500 lbs each year! To order fruit for donation to TAPIN please visit https://ifundraise.com/723608 and choose ‘Ship to Organization’. Hurricanes 2024 Relief Appeal (UCC)
In the aftermath of the devastation caused by recent hurricanes, the UCC welcomes assistance in recovery efforts with their emergency appeal. The National Ministries of the United Church of Christ has a long history of supporting communities as they recover from disaster and their plight fades from the headlines. Knitting for Others Group (Monthly)
The Knitting for Others Group will resume meeting both in person and via zoom on the first Tuesday of each month beginning Tuesday, November 5 from 6:30 - 9 pm. Feel free to stop into the library or join the call at any time and stay as long as you like. All knitters and crocheters are invited to participate and new faces are very welcome. Women of Faith Reading Group (Monthly)
The group welcomes women of all ages from BCCUCC as well as other churches and faith traditions. They meet for discussions on books, faith and life on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 1:30 - 3 pm in the church library and invite new women to join them. Bereavement Group (Monthly)
This support group is open to anyone (not just church members) who has lost a loved one at any time and new members are always welcome. The group meets once a month from 10 - 11 am in the church library and will meet again on Monday, November 18th. Veterans Coffee & Conversation at Atria (Monthly)
Rev. Racquel invites you to join her for coffee and donuts with the Veterans at Atria Bay Spring Village. We meet once per month for coffee and conversation - and donuts. Choir Rehearsals (Weekly)
If you enjoy singing, why not join the church choir - no audition needed! Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm in the Vestry for an hour or so. Youth Group
All youth in grades 5 - 9 are welcome to join us on Monday nights from 6 – 7 pm. We’re looking forward to Games and Crafts nights, Youth Group Soup, a trip to La Salette, a Quiet Retreat, community service work, and exploring a mission trip. Parents, we’ll need some help with Youth Group Soup nights! Please email racquel@bcc.org to learn more.
Upcoming Youth Group dates are Mondays, Nov 4th & 18th. Note: There is no youth group when Barrington Public Schools have a day off and on a few other Mondays. For the full year's calendar see page 13 of the Faith Formation Guide.

A Guide to Faith Formation for Children and Youth at BCCUCC 2024-2025 can be read at the link, and we encourage everyone - especially parents - to read about the various programs available for children and youth at BCCUCC. It covers everything from Nursery Care for our littlest ones up through opportunities for our high schoolers. Please share the information with other families you know with children and youth who may be interested. A link to the information is also on the Church School page of the church website at www.bccucc.org/children-youth/

Do you need a name tag?
If you would like a nametag please contact the church office at office@bccucc.org or call (401) 246-0111 and let us know what name you’d like on the nametag plus your preference for a clip, pin or string holder. Nametags are stored on the rack in the vestry hallway, or you can keep it in your car or purse where you can easily find it on a Sunday morning.

SNEUCC to be Honored by RI Council of Churches
The Southern New England Conference and it's Executive Conference Minister, the Rev. Darrell Goodwin, are being honored as "Heroes of Faith" by the Rhode Island State Council of Churches.
Also being honored is Rev. Chontell Washington, pastor of the First Congregational Church of West Springfield, MA, who had served as Interim Executive Minister of the Council. Learn more
The Heroes of Faith awards will be presented at a breakfast on Thursday, October 31 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI. Tickets are $40, or $320 for a table of 8. More information, the full list of award recipients, and registration can be found at: www.councilofchurchesri.org/heroes-of-faith.
