Find Quality Child Care Through
New Social Services Program
The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services (DSS) has launched an initiative to help connect families and child care facilities with quality child care professionals in the community.

Through this new effort, Chesterfield-Colonial Heights DSS hopes to assist residents by providing resources to identify quality child care facilities for their children, along with matching eligible families with financial assistance to assist with child care costs.

It also plans to work within its own network of child care providers in helping them identify candidates to hire at their respective facilities – including providing access to necessary training and resources, and helping people seeking to open their own child care facilities in Chesterfield County or Colonial Heights.

For more information, visit www.childcareva.com. Interested people and parties can also email at childcarehelpdss@chesterfield.gov or call at 804-748-1100.

When the LEGO Group began looking for a location to construct its new U.S.-based plant, Chesterfield had an ideal site to offer: a 340-acre parcel with appropriate zoning and all needed infrastructure already in place, proximity to a deep, well-educated talent pool and easy access to regional and interstate transportation networks.

That wasn’t by accident. While many industrial properties in Chesterfield have been taken off the market by logistics companies in recent years, the Board of Supervisors and county administration were intentional in preserving the last large undeveloped parcel in the county-owned Meadowville Technology Park and waiting for just the right opportunity to come along.

All hail the mighty Zeus!

I'm a 7-year-old Pitbull who weighs 77 lbs. I love running around and smelling things. My friends at the shelter noticed that I already know sit and speak! My bark does sound somewhat like lightning though, but don't be alarmed, I'm a sweet guy underneath it all.

I also am very skilled at catching treats in my mouth. I'm very food motivated. I seemed to like other dogs I met here. If you'd enjoy having a Greek god in your home, call the shelter today!
If you are interested in meeting this pet, please contact Chesterfield County Animal Services at 804-748-1683, option "2," to schedule an appointment. Office staff are available by phone 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The shelter is located at 9300 Public Works Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
