Coat and Sweater Drive for Migrants
The BWC’s immigration ministry is holding a drive to collect winter coats and sweaters in adult sizes small, medium and large for migrants new to the US. Items may be dropped off at the Mission Center, 11711 E. Marketplace in Fulton, on Nov. 16, 23, 30 and Dec. 7 and 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. All items must be new or gently used.

Thank You for Your Generosity
This Thanksgiving, we offer our gratitude to the churches of the Baltimore-Washington Conference that have supported United Methodist missions around the world. The General Board of Global Ministries reported that from Jan. 1 - Oct. 11, 975 gifts, totaling $673,940 was given to the Advance.

Among those gifts, $37,978 was given to the Advance in Eurasia, $3,350 was given to Poland; $320,416 to the United Methodist Committee on Relief's fund for international disasters and $278,184 to UMCOR's disaster relief ministries in the United States.

BWC churches also gave $34,011 to support seven missionaries. It takes about $25,000 a year to support one full-time missionary. Learn more about BWC's missionaries.

Online Q&A set on clergy housing allowance today: A housing allowance is a benefit to clergy that lowers the amount of income subject to federal income tax. Bryan Mills, general counsel for the General Council on Finance and Administration, will lead a question and answer session online at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 14. Learn more. Register.
The Training Tuesday webinar on Nov. 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will feature the Rev. Elaine Heath on Living and Loving like Jesus. She will help churches learn how to minister to their communities. Heath, an abbess who served as a professor for 11 years, lives at Spring Forest, a new monastic community in rural North Carolina. They tend to a forest and small farm, support refugee settlement and feed the community. Register for the webinar.

On Nov. 29, Training Tuesday will focus on the fourth pillar of vitality: Multiply Your Impact: Measure What Matters. Using simple tools to measure progress, and reflect on opportunities for improvement, participants will leave with a framework for applying the ideas shared within their own contexts. The presenter is Naomi Annandale, the Executive Director of Research and Strategic Evaluation of the denomination’s Discipleship Ministries. Register.

Baltimore Metropolitan United Methodist Men will hold an End the Hunger Potato Drop on Nov 19 at 9 a.m. at Arbutus UMC. The men will provide 800 fifty-pound bags of fresh Maine potatoes to churches and food bank organizations who wish to help feed the hungry in their community. Contact Bryon Gould at 443-858-1308 to reserve the number of bags of potatoes you’d like. Help will also be needed unloading the truck.

BWC clergywomen are invited to attend an annual Christmas Luncheon on Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at the Morningside Inn in New Market. The lunch, which is $30, includes breast of chicken stuffed with apple and raisin stuffing served with chicken cream sauce, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds and red peppers, house salad, and chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis and whipped cream. Meeting with rural pastors: Bishop LaTrelle Easterling will meet for a conversation with pastors who serve in rural settings on Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Otterbein UMC in Hagerstown.
