We could not agree more.
Biden/Harris lost Texas by 631,221 votes. Over 4.5 million eligible Texans did not vote. Our work is cut out for us. Taking a page from Stacey Abrams playbook, our strategy for 2021 is “Win the Cities, Win the States.” We’re harnessing big mayoral races in our 8 key states to register Democrats who will then help us win statewide races for the Senate, House, governor’s mansions, and more in 2022. And we can only do this because last year, our grassroots donors enabled us to build a Field Team 6 database of over 15 million contacts nationwide.
On May 1, Texans will go to the polls to elect mayors all across the state. We’re focusing on the top 5 races, with Fort Worth the priority because a terrible Republican incumbent
(Mayor Betsy Price) is stepping down. We can flip Fort Worth! And Democrats in these cities will allow us to win crucial House races in 2022, as well as ousting voter suppressor Gov. Greg Abbott.
But to do this, we need YOU, of course!
Help us write postcards to Fort Worth, then San Antonio, Arlington, Garland, and Plano! We’ve identified 168,000 unregistered voters in these citites who are likely to be Democrats, and we’re going to register as many as we can. We’re also phone banking into Fort Worth every Tuesday! POSTCARDING SOFT LAUNCH!
Our official postcarding launch party isn't happening until next Sunday (RSVP here!)... but for those of you who just cannot wait to start writing, we have exciting news! Addresses are available... starting now! Our first campaign will register new Democratic voters in Forth Worth, Texas. The city has a mayoral election happening on May 1, the Republican incumbent mayor is stepping down, and the time is ripe for a Democrat to take charge! Voter registration applications are due to the Fort Worth Registrar by April 1, so we need postcards mailed no later than March 22.
