Latino Chapter Meeting

On November 7th, during the Washington Hospitality Association (WHA) annual convention, the second meeting of the Latino Chapter took place, where 23 scholarships, sponsored by DoorDash, were awarded to Latino-owned restaurants and businesses related to the hospitality industry.


The scholarships cover the membership costs for the winning businesses in both the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Seattle and the Washington Hospitality Association. The scholarship aims to strengthen business participation in the hospitality industry and provide access to valuable growth opportunities. This achievement reflects a strong commitment to the growth of our community within the hospitality industry.

Open Mic Event

We invite you to be part of our next Open Mic Event!


When? December 4, from 6:00 to 8 P.M.

Where? Hugo House,1634 11th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122

How to register? People interested in attending can pre-register by email; mic@seattlelatino.org


If you pre-register by sending an email and attend the event, you will win a $25 DoorDash gift card.


How does it work?

Participants are invited to share poetry, literature, songs, or other creative works in either English or Spanish. Each participant will have up to eight minutes to present, with timing managed by one of our volunteers. The order of performances will be chosen randomly from those who registered online. In-person registration will close 30 minutes before the open mic begins.


Additional:

We invite all participants to bring food to share. The idea of ​​this event is to unite the community through sharing, food, art and literature. Drinks can be purchased at the Hugo House bar, and outside beverages are not permitted to support Hugo House's hospitality.

Webinar: Workers' compensation requirements

*This Webinar will only be taught in Spanish*

This webinar will provide you with all the information about workers' compensation, a benefit provided by the Labor & Industries (L&I) agency of the State for workers who suffer injuries or illnesses related to their employment. You will learn about:


  • Basic requirements to access these benefits, including a valid employment relationship and how to report an injury or illness.
  • Deadlines for filing a claim with L&I.
  • Coverage for medical care and necessary procedures.
  • How wage-loss benefits work in cases of temporary or permanent disability.
