Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I’m Tonya McBride-Montgomery, embarking on my 4th year as your principal for Rhodes School for the Performing Arts. While we have made many great memories at the Channelview Campus, I’m ecstatic about our transition back home to the Northshore Campus.
Student achievement, safety, and parental involvement will all be a top priority this year.
My goal is to build a positive school culture where all stakeholders will feel a part of the CREW. We will continue to prepare our scholars to be productive citizens of this global society. The entire Northshore staff and I look forward to partnering with each of you to provide our scholars with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality school experience.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new staff and family members, as well as those who are returning for another amazing year. I’m delighted that each of you has chosen to spend this school year with us! Despite the challenges we continue to face with COVID-19, my goal is to build lifelong relationships and lasting memories with the entire CREW for years to come.
My love and passion are evident for this work as I begin my 32nd year in Education. I began my career at Prairie View A&M University earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in School Administration. My entire career has been dedicated to closing the achievement gaps and responding to our children's social and emotional needs to become college-ready, productive citizens of the future. My personal mission and goal are to educate the whole child.
Let’s get ready for a year of exciting lessons, programs, and campus events. We are ready to bring the WOW factor back to RSPA! Together we can make a difference.
