Give feedback on potential Farmington Road improvements at Dec. 11 workshop

Join us at the Farmington Road Concept Plan Design Workshop from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, to tell us which road improvements would most benefit you and your community.

The workshop will be at Butternut Creek Elementary School, 20395 SW Florence St.

The Farmington Road Concept Plan is a visioning project to help guide the future design and construction of improvements on Farmington Road between 209th Avenue and Kinnaman Road. During the workshop, the project team will work with you to learn which potential road design elements are preferred by road users and your community.

Dispose of leaves properly; don't move them into the street

Raking leaves is nobody’s favorite chore. But dispose of them properly instead of cutting corners and moving your leaves from your yard into the street.

You are even encouraged to clear leaves off the street and storm drains adjacent to your property when it is safe to do so! If you don’t, leaves that naturally fall into the street are generally taken care of by traffic, weather and monthly street sweeping in the urban area. But piling the leaves from private property on the street causes blocked storm drains, bike lanes and slick streets.

There is no curbside disposal service for loose yard debris like leaves in unincorporated Washington County. So what are your disposal options?

Comment Opportunity

Comment on the design alternatives for the 205th Avenue Project, between Baseline Road and Quatama Street, through an online open house through Dec. 8.

The project includes bike and pedestrian improves and replaces a narrow, weight-limited bridge.
